I am an amateur from Hamilton Ontario, Canada. My images are made purely to satisfy me and if others like them I am pleased. Since I am not after ooohs and aaahs or likes from the world I am not on Social Media such as Facebook, Instagram etc.
I don't really specialize in one genre but seem to enjoy wildlife and macro the most.
After an approximately 30 year lapse in my hobby I decided it was time to get back at it. In 2008, when I was on a whale watching tour with my advanced point and shoot camera, I was looking over the shoulder of a man with a DSLR reviewing his images. Then and there I decided I had one more camera in my future. I bought the Canon 50D with the 18-200 lens. Everything I could need, wide to a decent tele length. Wrong!! The camera was upgraded to the Canon 7D and then to the 7D mark II. Lenses were added- a10-20, 24-105L, the nifty 50, 100 macro,100-300(sold off to get)the 100-400L and 1.4 teleconverter, 2 flash units and other bits. So much for getting that one last camera that was all I needed!!
I have been a member of the Hamilton Camera Club since 2012 where I have met a great group of talented and friendly, helpful people. In 2013 I joined the Executive team as Membership Chair. I held that position for 5 years and then took a year off. I then reassumed the position and am currently still in the chair. The club is administered by volunteers and I do this because my belief is that if you are getting something out of it then you must give something back. I find this rewarding since the membership always has some leaving and new people joining always presenting the opportunity to meet and learn from or assist new friends.
